Rates and Costs

Krans & Van Hilten law firm charge their activities on an hourly basis.

As of 1 January 2012 the following rates are in force:

• lawyer-partners: € 270 per hour;
• lawyers (> 4 years work experience): between € 200 and € 230 per hour;
• lawyers (< 4 years work experience): between € 175 and € 190 per hour.

As a rule, rates are adjusted annually.

In certain cases, a different rate may be agreed upon, depending on, among other things, the nature and/or urgency of the case.
Said rates exclude 6% office costs, tax and taxable and non-taxable advances. Advances are expenses made on your behalf by the lawyer such as the court registry fee, bailiff’s expenses, travel and accommodation expenses, salary of the procurator litis and bureau costs (postage costs, telephone, fax, photocopies and so on).

Our office customarily charges an advance in all cases. The amount of this advance is different for each case and depends on the expectations with regard to the work to be done and the costs involved in this. You will receive a monthly itemised invoice for the work carried out by the lawyer, unless no activities have been performed during the month concerned.
